Investigators recovered car parts from the vehicle that originally struck the pair and their investigation is ongoing. The female victim was hospitalized in stable condition. A 32-year-old woman was alert and crying in pain, and a 36-year-old man was unresponsive after police say they were struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Police say a off-duty officer was driving on the block when he saw two pedestrians laying on the highway.
